A caramel centered stout accentuated by Athens’ Own Dawn Chorus French Roast. I first brew a stout with minimal roasted barley, no black malt and an abundant amount of caramel malts (Special B, cara 8) this creates a sweet flavor and mouth feel to boot! After fermentation the beer is cold conditioned on 4lbs of course ground coffee beans for 1 week. The coffee beans add color to the stout and lots of roasted flavor. Java The Stout contains approximately a half a cup of coffee caffeine per pint. Great body with the robust aroma and flavor of coffee, what more could you ask for.
